Abstract：Anchor is widely used as the foundation of extra-high voltage direct-current（UHV DC） transmission project. Anchor foundation can reduce manual hole digging and blasting operations on the base surface of the mountain， and destruction of vegetation. Meanwhile， Anchor foundation associates with less concrete， small amount of excavation， which can reduce the destruction of the original mountain terrain and landforms. This paper uses Nuozhadu power transmission bolt base in Guangdong ± 800kV DC transmission line project to summarize the design theory of anchor foundation. Additionally， the rationality of calculation is verified through testing. It is shown that anchor foundation has a advantage of economic and social benefit through economy analysis.
